Kathy Gray’s love for nature emerged from lifelong experiences of exploring the dune beaches of Cape Cod and Maine’s diverse coastal landscape. This unique corner of the world full of rapturous dichotomy - rugged and serene, white sandy beaches and rocky coastlines -  informed her earliest artistic expression and continues to inspire most of her work today.

Kathy’s nature paintings are approached through the interplay of color and form resulting in dynamic artworks. She uses vibrant colors and a variety of textures to emphasize the magnitude of an experiential scene such as exploring the blossoms of a beautiful garden as seen in Posse of Pansies.  Kathy uses oil paints and cold wax medium to dramatize color changes with light sources that form shapes creating dialogues of intrigue and spontaneity.

Kathy lives and works in New Rochelle, New York and her work is in private collections in the US and Spain. Kathy is available for studio visits and  commissions. She currently consigns with interior designers.
